I have a Sony 350 Alpha, and it is reaaaally good. But, and for me studying cinema and tv, the D5000 from Nikkon lets you record video with great quality, thing is ive only use it to record video and not to shoot photos at all.

hey im using an a200..and let me tell u..its not the cameratt bothers much..its is who is behind the camera..camera is just a tool. it is you who makes it happen.

for me sony is still going strong with the upcoming a500 and a550 for release, u mite just wanna check it out as it is value for money, investment wise.

ISO IQ for a550 is higher than a700 mind you..outperforming even a700 and a900 at ISO 12800.

do check it out on DxO Optics tos find out more.

hey im buying a dslr REAL soon and i went into a sony store today and used the 700 and really liked it.
well the 700 being $800, i looked into the rest of the alpha line.

the camera that i had my heart set on is the Nikon D5000.

which is better. Nikon D5000 or Sony a350????

id appreciate an answer asap, please!

BTW : The Nikon system has over 60 current lenses available for their system, hundreds of more good used lens that will work on the Nikon D90. Sony has 26 current lenses.

Man… I have a 18-200 MM From minolta… and i have a macro lens.. Why is Nikon better? : It is Since something like 1910 and sony just taked it over Konica Minolta… Damn… i don’t know it’s just the name…

    Why actual?
The D90 is not superior to the A350.
350 IQ is weak at ISO 800 and above but extreme strong at 100 and 200.

And forget about the kit lens.
Put on a Zeiss 16-80 or at least the Sony 16-105 to see the power of the Alpha.
And if you have the cash you can get the Zeiss 24-70 and the Sony 70-200 witch are both better than any Nikon and Canon 2.8 Zooms.
With Sony you can use the diamonds of Minolta Lens design for good price.

A good Cam will not make you happy without the right glass…

If I compare this camera ( or my 330 ) with my previous Medion crap, well, what can I say… it’s a whole new world then. ( and not too expensive ).
I am very happy with it.

I have the 330 ( 10Mp ) and for not being a professional, it takes great pictures, It doesn’t cost much and i is fun to play with.
Ofcourse there are people that see the difference with the more expensive camera’s, but I don’t.
I think the problem with many people is that they compare this camera with camera’s that are a lot more expensive,.. ofcourse there is a difference then. But a photo printed on my canon MX860 looks great. What more do I need ? Nothing more.

Sony bitches about not being taken seriously as a proper camera maker, but screw them. They tell you nothing about specs. The website reads like a frying pan/radio from the J C penny catalog. Not to mention they are the masters of excessive megapixels. I remember people arguing over 5-7mp in 2005. Now you’d be hard pressed to find a 9mp camera (minis not withstanding). The walkman was cool but come on Sony, give it up.

I’m gonna be a youtube jerk here; Mathematically, sensor size makes a parabola with megapixels. (an approximation) 15mm X 17mm sensor is ideal for 10mp. When you put 14mp on the same sensor there will not be enough light to hit all the pixels and you will get grain pictures. Don’t be fooled by megapixels.
