lol. I was in the exact same situation… I have just ordered the a200. It looks a lot better. You might want to save up 4 some more lenses as landscape and macro are two ends of the spectrum.

dude, just cause a200’s better specs doesnt mean its better than d40, the a40 beats it hands down when it comes to actual pic taking, btw olympus’s suck
get the d40, iv tried both and the build quality diff is big, the nikon does rock… nice and user freindly too

Sony a200 is better than the d40, the d40 has 6 mega pixels and only 3 af points where this camera has 10 mega pixels and 9 af points.
Its a much better camera and the only thing going for the d40 is the brand name.

yes. there is no live view on this model. the live view is available on the 350

why not get the nikon D40x ?
It gives you everything that the Nikon d40 has to offer but it comes with 10 megapixel.

Can i have some help on this one? Does this mean photo’s i have taken on this camera will not be able to be accessed and viewed on the camera’s screen? Because I am looking at this camera or the Nikon D40, but there is a 4 megapixel difference between the two, any help out there?

exactly…for instance 55/18=3.05 and that’s the zoom of most kit lenses… (please excuse any mistakes of mine, i’m neither from america nor englad….greece)
